Information collected automatically
Server logs
Like most websites, our web host records standard server logs when your browser requests a page: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
Spam protection on the contact form
To stop automated spam, the contact form includes a hidden field that people never see, and it limits how many messages can be sent from one connection. For that limit, the server keeps a one-way, salted hash of your IP address and the times you sent messages. The hash can’t be turned back into your IP address, and records are cleared out automatically once they are 24 hours old.
Fonts
The site’s typefaces load from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google, which receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. See Google’s privacy policy (opens in new tab).
Videos and images
Images and video poster frames are served from our own website. Our product videos are hosted on YouTube. Until you press play, a video is only a poster image from our site, and nothing is requested from YouTube. When you press play, the video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From then on Google, which runs YouTube, receives your IP address and browser details and may store information on your device, as described in Google’s privacy policy (opens in new tab). The same applies if you follow a “Watch on YouTube” link.
Cookies and analytics
Our own code sets no cookies, doesn’t use your browser’s storage, and runs no analytics or advertising tags.
Our hosting provider, GoDaddy, adds its own traffic and performance-monitoring script to the pages it serves (it loads from img1.wsimg.com). GoDaddy describes it as monitoring performance to make websites faster. The script can set first-party cookies named _tccl_visitor and _tccl_visit and send GoDaddy information about your visit, such as the page, your browser and timing data. We don’t use it for advertising. GoDaddy handles that information under its privacy policy (opens in new tab). If we switch the script off, we will update this notice.
If you press play on a product video, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies or use your browser’s storage from that point, as described under “Videos and images” above. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a content blocker. The website works normally without them.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- reply to your message and follow up on the request you made, such as a demo or early access;
- run, protect and fix this website, including stopping spam and abuse;
- keep reasonable business records and meet our legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we won’t add you to a mailing list. We don’t have a newsletter.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run this website and our email:
- GoDaddy hosts the website, runs the contact form handler and sends the form email (privacy policy (opens in new tab)).
- Microsoft hosts our company email through Microsoft 365, so your message and our replies are stored there (privacy statement (opens in new tab)).
- Google serves the site’s fonts and, once you press play, our product videos on YouTube, as described above.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, in which case this notice would continue to apply to it.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages and our replies stay in our email for as long as we need them to help you and to keep reasonable business records. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.
- Spam-protection records (hashed IP addresses and times) are cleared out automatically once they are 24 hours old.
- Server logs are kept and rotated by our host on its own schedule.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email brianholbert@skybirdai.com from the address you used to contact us. We will answer within a reasonable time and as required by the laws that apply to you. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to object to or restrict certain uses or to complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us and we will help.
Children
This website is meant for adults: educators, families and school leaders. Children under 13 should not use the contact form. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information through this website, we will delete it. Student use of our products is covered by each product’s own privacy policy, linked above.
Security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), the contact form checks every submission on our server, and we limit who can access our inbox. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
