About Skybird.AI

AI should work for people, not the other way around.

Skybird.AI is a Florida company, founded in 2025 by a physician who has spent 27+ years supplying technology to schools and colleges, and a computer-science professor. We build AI products around real workflows, one job at a time. Today, that work is education.

Our story

One workflow at a time.

Skybird.AI started from a simple belief: artificial intelligence should work for people, not the other way around.

Between them, our founders have worked in medicine, finance, the college classroom and school technology. They kept seeing the same pattern: most AI tools are built to be general, and people are left to work out where they fit.

So we start from the other end. We pick one real workflow, like returning feedback on a stack of essays, planning a homeschool week or covering a class when a teacher is out, and build the AI around it. The AI drafts. A person reviews and decides.

Education is our first vertical. Today that means seven products for college instructors, K-12 teachers, students, homeschool families and school leaders, from a grading assistant to a college LMS. Four are available now; Eagle Nest, Power Administrator and Altair are in testing or early access. The method isn’t specific to schools, though. Anywhere a workflow repeats, it applies.

What we stand for

Mission, vision and values.

Our mission

To build AI products around real workflows, so organizations work more efficiently while the human parts of the work stay in human hands.

Our vision

A world where AI fits naturally into everyday work, amplifying people and freeing them for creative, meaningful work.

Our values

  • Purpose over generality. Specific AI for specific problems, not generic tools looking for a use.
  • People decide. Technology should strengthen human judgment and creativity, not replace them.
  • Practical by default. Every feature has to solve a real problem for a real user.
  • Partnership. We learn how you work before we build anything.

Leadership

The people behind Skybird.

Two co-founders with very different careers and one shared idea: AI should give people time back for the work only they can do.

Mario Ariet, MD

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

  • Internal medicine physician
  • 27+ years in education hardware and IT
  • K-12, higher-ed and government clients

For more than 27 years Mario has sold and implemented computer hardware and IT infrastructure for K-12 school districts, colleges and universities, and state and local government across the United States.

He began his career as an internal medicine physician in New York City and also worked on Wall Street as a professional money manager.

Decades of working inside schools and colleges showed him how they really run, and where technology helps or gets in the way. At Skybird.AI he leads the company’s direction: AI that makes learning more efficient and preserves the art of teaching.

Brian Holbert, PhD

Chief Information Officer & Co-Founder

  • College professor, computer science
  • Educator and technologist

Brian is a college professor in computer science. He brings both academic rigor and a practical feel for what happens in a real classroom.

Teaching gives him a firsthand view of the challenges educators face, from the administrative work that pulls time away from students to the difficulty of giving every student personal attention.

At Skybird.AI he leads technology and product development, building tools that help educators spend their time on what they do best.

Why the blue?

A blue with a back story.

Our signature color is Lombard Blue, the paint of the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Esprit “Skybird” edition: paint code 21, GM code WA4779.

We share the car’s name, and we borrowed its color. Every shade on this site, from the pale sky behind our panels to the deep navy of the footer, is built out from that one blue.

It’s a small reminder of what we like to make: something purpose-built, with a little personality.
